Mary Bell liked to kill

bell 1

In merry old England, in the spring of sixty-eight

There was a girl named Mary Bell that fed on hate

At the ripe old age of eleven

She sent two little boys to heaven

Plus five failed attempts left the little bitch irate

Mary even choked her accomplice Norma Bell: not related

A girl dumb enough to still hang with Mary in acts ill-fated

But she took her chance to squeal

After cutting herself a deal

So Mary was locked up with Norma free, but now hated

Despite signs of mutilation the court convicts of manslaughter

“Eye-for-an-eye” is out the window when it’s someone’s daughter

The last of her brief fame

A three day escape game

When she gave up her virginity, and spoke of blood flowing like water

    Well done, JW.
Before commenting, I googled Mary Bell (I’ve never heard of her), and was surprised by how little time she was incarcerated. Not much in the way of justice for those two murdered boys and their families.

I’ve read that on the average females get only one-third the time behind bars that males get for the same crimes. And since you read up on her, you saw how the courts went out of their way to protect her identity for many years after she went free.

      Thanks, Cathy.

Yes, I read that. It seems as if on some level, society doesn’t think women are as responsible for their crimes, sins, and all-around bad behavior as are men. Go figure…
