Sea of Skeptics

sea-waves-rocks-foam

The sea of skeptics is in perpetual motion

with the currents of opposing opinions

and swells of trend

and waves of wants and wishes

driven by determined dreams

to slap and claw at distant shores

for any sensation

to inspire solutions

to the all-consuming despair,

depression, and desperation

caused by constant doubt.

And that insecurity breeds judgmental attitudes against others to boost themselves up. It is indeed sad, my friend.

Well, what do you do with a nation that worships youth, and thinks their elders have nothing to contribute to society?

That’s the billion dollar question, Cathy. They really need to utilize all that experience, that’s for sure.

I remember a time, and I’m sure you do too, that old people were valued for their experience and wisdom. Now, too many are shipped off to nursing homes, drugged, and Lord-knows what else.

Yeah, the tradition when families lived together with several generations always honored their elders. It was a good thing. And when so many did it back then it stayed throughout society. But no longer, and it’s truly sad, my friend.

Yes it’s sad…and even sadder to see celebrities, and even ordinary people, go through procedure after procedure to look forever young, like it is some sort of disease.

I fully agree, it really sets a bad example to the next generation that want to be noticed: appearance over everything else is not conducive to a strong nation.

And not conducive to a feeling of self worth either. I’m off to bed, JW. Good night and sweet dreams, my wonderful friend.
