Carousel Cowgirl

[With a slow country blues feel.]

You’re a Carousel Cowgirl riding the wind

The pretty blue pony is your best friend

A Carousel Cowgirl suspended in time

You’ve seen everywhere in the back of your mind

You… You… You… were born in the city

And yes all the boys say you’re pretty

But you simply don’t care anymore

You’ve packed your bags again and stare out the door

You’ve tried this three times before… to leave

Tears begin to come; wipe them away with your sleeve

I know of the burden you must bear

A city girl with a country heart; it’s not fair     (to chorus)

There will be times when your burden just won’t end

That’s when you do what you’ve done before… again

You take all the dimes you have saved

And you go ride your pony all day

Already saddled; you board him and ride

Just moving along at his easy stride

He speaks to you so softly in the wind

And sends you back on your way to try again

You’re a Carousel Cowgirl riding the wind

The pretty blue pony is your best friend

A Carousel Cowgirl suspended in time

You’ve seen everywhere in the back of your mind

We all find someone or something to help us get back on course, or support us when we’re down, and help us become stronger. It just happened to be a blue pony in this case.

There is a nice underlined sentiment in that, my friend.

I enjoyed the song/poem very much. I don’t know how you manage to write one every day.
Think I’m off to bed. It’s been a long day.
        Goodnight, Alpha.
