Just Another Man

Your daddy told you when you were a boy

Share with them son, it will give them a joy

But they never thanked you when you let them play with your things

You made good grades in school every year

At sixteen you started drinking beer

But only you remember these kinds of things

Well, you’re just another man in this world

With no piece of the pie

Hopes and dreams in your mind

With tears that you can’t cry

You’re just another man in this world

Another face to walk by

Another person to bump into

In a crowded department store… nothing more

You ask a man for the time of day

He doesn’t say a word, just walks away

You carry on about your business not even wondering why

You hurt at the sight of an injured girl

You hate all the lies that are in this world

But no one really cares how you feel

Well, you’re just another man in this world

With no piece of the pie

Hopes and dreams in your mind

With tears that you can’t cry

You’re just another man in this world

Another face to walk by

Another person to bump into

In a crowded department store… nothing more

Something do with denying love and settling for someone else, though written in other words of course; my friend. But I can’t do that.

I’m sure it was too. And I wasn’t hurt, just caught in a dilemma that would cause me to deny myself, Pretty Lady.

Well, my answer to that would be not to deny yourself, to do what you feel in your heart is right for you. I’m sure the person who cares for you wants what you want.

Very sound advice. I was planning on it anyway; but it’s nice to get a second opinion from someone I trust so highly, my friend.
